Teacher and volunteer registration for Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month (CALM) is open!
Agriculture comes to life in classrooms all over Manitoba every March, and 2024 will be no different. Teachers and students receive an in-class visit from a volunteer farmer or agriculture professional, a hands-on agriculture activity and an agriculture themed book for their classroom.
The 2024 CALM classroom activity, Caring for Our Watershed (EN/FR), provides students with the opportunity to explore watersheds – what they are, which one they belong to, how they function and why caring for our watersheds is important. Volunteers will help them discover what farmers and those in the agriculture industry do to ensure the sustainability of our watersheds and help students to discover ways that they too can care for their watershed.
Teachers – register your classroom for a CALM visit today!
