Join us for a virtual field trip to a Manitoba chicken farm! Students will discover what's behind the barn door. Join from your classroom, or send the YouTube link to your students to watch if they are learning from home. You will receive an activity to do with your class related to the tour. The activity is linked to the grade 4 curriculum but other grades are welcome to attend the tour. 

*You only have to register once for the whole class. 

About the farmer

Rachel Plett is a third generation farmer living in southern Manitoba where she works with her parents and brothers on their mixed grain and broiler chicken farm. She also shares her poultry expertise as a part time Field Services Technician with Manitoba Chicken Producers.

Rachel loves to educate students about her life as a chicken farmer. She shares her passion for farming with students by participating in a variety of school related agriculture education programs, including volunteering at Agriculture in the Classroom - Manitoba's Amazing Agriculture Adventure.
